Cube 2 Hypercube (2002)

Can you escape the perfect killing machine?

The story opens on a young woman waking up in a brightly lit, futuristic looking room that looks like a computer simulation. As she explores her new surroundings she leaves the room, entering another and is suddenly pulled up out of view.

A group of seven strangers find themselves in similarly lit cubes. As the group unites, a mysterious Colonel Maguire informs them that they must solve a code in order to escape The Cube, before allowing one of the many traps in the rooms to kill him. The group flees in panic and fight to conquer the building terror and anxiety as they explore their deadly surroundings. As the group navigates the maze they witness visions that seem to be of themselves in alternate realities or illusions. As the group continues their search to unlock the code and secure their freedom they start to discover a repetitive pattern. Could this prove to be the key to their survival?

Taking shelter in a room that appears safe it appears that one of the group is not there by accident. Instead he is an investigator searching for a missing employee and believes that the company she worked for is operating the improbable prison they are trapped in. The room is anything but safe as a trap is triggered and the group must escape before meeting a gruesome end. As they attempt to avoid the trap the group is separated and not everyone makes it to safety before having to continue and hopefully solve the riddle. The separated group members must struggle with every increasingly complicated and lethal trap as the psychological aspects of The Cube begin to take their toll, blurring the lines between reality and madness as each person encounters themselves in alternate realities.

As time runs out the survivors must save themselves from The Cube and solve the mystery surrounding them.
